Beschreibung

Nach den Editionen Rutter und Flaughter folgt nun die 3. Edition für den deutschen Markt. Mit 20,5 ppm ist diese Edition etwas stärker getorft als die Vorgänger mit 11, bzw. 14,8 ppm.
Jetzt mit 20,5 ppm, also etwa wie ein mittelgetorfter Islay.

Die Tastingnotes in Englisch:
Farbe: Cutter is pale yellow in appearance.
Aroma: An initially thick and oily smoke structure reveals a sharper, more medicinal phenolic layer and a piercing burst of fruitiness. Ripe peaches and just a touch of oak. The nose is intense and unforgettable.
Geschmack: More ashy, with a slight apple-core bitterness. Leather and spicy vanilla is there too, lingering at the back, accompanied by sharper notes of pink grapefruit and ripe orchard fruits. Elegant and long. A kaleidoscope of spicy and peaty notes that die out with a juicy burst and a loud call for another sip.

Geschichte der Destille:
Die Brennerei Knochdhu wurde 1893 gegründet und auch der hergestellte Malt trug lange den Namen der Brennerei. Erst 1993 erhielt der Malt Whisky den Namen AnCnoc. Es gab einen Rechtsstreit mit der Brennerei Knockando, die eine Namensverwechselung mit deren Malt vermeiden wollte.
Die Jahresproduktion beträgt 992.000 Liter.
